Polybar to xfce4-panel in i3 justaguy linux? dbus error?

How do i change the polybar to

xfce4-panel ??

help please ?

I,m a newbie

Ok, there is a lot to unpack here.

Assuming you are using my install of i3 packages and configuration, then:

  1. Polybar is the most common task bar for i3 and it is located ~/.config/i3/polybar/config.ini. There are videos on youtube that demo how to configure polybar.
  2. If you want to change from polybar to xfce4-panel (and I am assuming your are a debian user), install sudo apt install xfce4-panel and then remove or comment the polybar line at the top of ~/.config/i3/scripts/autostart.sh. You will need to replace that line with xfce4-panel &
  3. If you run up against a dbus error: try installing sudo apt install dbus-x11 and see if that fixes it.
