My ProxMox home lab server. 1st time running a home server and loving it. Below are the specs and what services I am running. The VMs are for messing around and learning. All backups and ISO’s are stored on an external NAS.

Server Specs:

  • Mobo: B550M
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 5900XT
  • Ram: 64GB
  • NVMe: x2 1GB
  • GPU: RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
  • NIC: 5GB LAN | 2.5 GB Lan

I’ve thought about returning to proxmox. If I invest in a NAS I will. With a jbod, it just won’t work that well for me.

Hello Matt,
I have been using ProxMox now for about 3 months and has been solid. Compared to VMWare which I use for work I like it better. Really like the LXC containers as they are easy to work with. Really like the ProxMox VE Helper Scripts site too. I setup my JellyFin LXC container manually just to see how hard it would be and was pretty easy. Also setup GPU passthrough which was not difficult as I needed it for the Ollama server.

I have thee nodes and I am going to try the management server next

I was going to try that if I ever add another node, as of now I only have 1. Will have to see if I truely need another node. :slight_smile:

I run a lot of VMs but it’s nice to have for maint, or just today I got a new MB for one node that failed so having the other two was fantastic
